Michael Sirotkin lives and composes in Moscow, Russia. The surprise is that this former soldier in the Soviet army could be so musically gifted and keep his dream alive for 35 years of sharing his music with those who would enjoy it! One of the reasons God put Lin on earth was to help others achieve their dreams and that is her goal in presenting and marketing Michael's music in the US. (Do note that the gun is upside down in his cover photo! :) A computer programmer, Michael creates all of his original music with electronic keyboard and computer. He is 54 years old and learned piano as a child in Moscow. The only music from the West that was easily available to aspiring musicians in Moscow, Russia in 1967 was the music of the Ventures from America and the Shadows from Britain. Michael taught himself guitar listening to this music and has a particular love of the Ventures style of music. He has created his own arrangement of Brahms' Hungarian Dance and has dedicated that to the Ventures on this CD. Their version was Rap City. I first heard Michael's music on a game distributed by Alhademic Group, a Russian game company. I was immediately enthralled with one song in particular, Aquarelle, and through a long involved process finally tracked Michael down in Moscow and obtained his e-mail address. In the ensuing 4 years, I have corresponded with Michael off and on in an effort to convince him to let me promote and distribute his wonderful music in America. This CD is the result! He is a uniquely talented composer capable of creating the most beautiful melodies in titles like Aquarelle, April, and Solitude, but has an obvious passion and tremendous talent for more upbeat compositions like the fantastically rocking Express Train. Krest (The Cross) was written after the death of an early member of their professional band, The Centaurs, dating back to 1967. This song was written purposely leaving out certain instruments which adds a plaintive quality. Michael's CD is available for $15.00 US.
